Paul Kerr-Hislop is a Wellington based architect whose practice Art + Architecture Ltd was formed together with his well known artist partner Basia Smolnicki in 1996.
Their resultant architectural commissions have combined a unique blend of fine and applied art with functional and inspiring architectural design.
The practice has undertaken a large variety of different projects including an off-grid writer’s residence in the Wairarapa, an extension to a science laboratory for NIWA, a Truffière farm building near Nelson, a tennis court enclosure, a large and colourful apartment building and a new library building for the people of Bougainville.
Many of these commissions have received recognition for their excellence by the New Zealand Institute of Architects and leading building industry participants including:
